Good morning to all! I was quite surprised to read the discussion line on this topic. I have fortunately never experienced what Hawkeye is referring to and since I have joined in 2021 I have asked some "very stupid" questions believe me but, I always got assisted in a very courteous and friendly manner. I think the way in which assistance is asked can also lead to misunderstanding or misinterpretation and visa versa. Hello Everyone, To each his own but I follow a simple rule when it comes to size: When I start a new layout the first thing I do is to center the board and create Cam 0 view. Wherever I'm working on the layout, I can get an overview of the result or impact by simply clicking Cam 0 and a FULL overview of the layout without having to zoom out or moving around with my mouse. Hallo Goetz, I think I might have found my problem. When fitting a loco with lights do it "new" from the catalog. Do not copy & paste from another loco. It seems to have solved the problem (I hope). Kind regards Ern

Hallo everyone, Please can someone help me. Often you will load a steam loco, and you need to add the front lights (white on) and rear lights (even to the tender) showing red. Once placement is completed, I attach this to the vehicle (the chain emblem) but after a while I find these lights (one or 2) disappear or gets "left" behind somewhere. How do I solve this as I am tired of having to copy, re-align and attach. Thanks in advance Ern45

Hallo everyone! In the beginning when I got my first MBS (June 2021 - V6) I always went for bigger is better and it had to be automated. But looking at other layouts over the years I came to realize that smaller is better and to run it manually is closer to having a real layout. So, with my last few layouts I tried to go smaller, simplified and manual operations as far as possible with minimum EV, portholes and depos. But "programming" my brain to do so is very difficult as I would start a new layout (reduce the size of the table when I start to try and get my brain to comply ) but before I know it, I had enlarged the table and added portholes and/or depos! Is there anyone else having this "problem"? Regards Ern

Hello everyone, I have just read all of the messages and I'm now a bit confused! Due to the Rand versus Euro situation (living in South Africa) I was hesitant to spend R846-50 on the V9 upgrade. On advice from Neo, I bought it via Steam for R300-00. Quite a saving as you can see. In the beginning I had to login through Steam to use V9, which became irritating very quickly UNTIL I used my V8.5 and it said V9 professional is available and so I downloaded it via V8.5 (without any further cost) and now I no longer have to use Steam at all. If I understand correctly, future updates "might" be linked to the Professional + version depending on the market situation. I would like to consider the Professional + version and whilst looking for more info on it I came across these messages. Please can someone answer the following: 1. Should I wish to upgrade to V10 in future, will I have to get the V9 Professional version again via MBS? 2. Where can I read more about the Professional+ version and cost factors? Hallo everyone, It has been a while since I have been around. This was mainly due to the Christmas season but also the cost for me to upgrade to V9 from V8.5. I downloaded the trail version of V9 I think in early December and have been exploring the new developments. However, due to idiotic politics in my country the Euro versus SA Rand has gone crazy with the effect at the moment I cannot justify the expense. To give you some details: (R = SA Rand - our currency): V6: Purchased 16 June 2021: Full price paid: R 846.90 V7: Purchased 07 August 2022: With discount: R 611.75 V8.5: Purchased 26 July 2024: With discount: R516.26 If I want to buy V9 today, even with the discount, it will cost me R 760.11 - a massive increase of 47% as to what I paid for V8.5. and as a retired pensioner I cannot justify this yet. I still love my MBS and just yesterday published my latest layout I started in December 2024 before family and friends arrived. Kind regards and well wishes from South Africa! ERN45
