Can anyone tell me how to restart a train moving after stopping it at a station?

If there is anyone out there that would like to mentor me in English I would be most grateful

I do not use LUA

Hello Stephen,
every signal can stop and start a train. Attached to a signal you find a contact. This contact is preconfigured to stop any train when the signal shows Halt and to accelerate it again when the signal switches to Go. Make sure the contact sits on the track when placing your signal. When desired, you may offset the signal by using the sliders in the properties menu.

You can operate any signal by double-clicking it.

For more complex controls you may use the event manager. You don't need to know Lua to use it. You can assemble your control mechanism from command blocks with actions, conditions and repeats.

Hello @swcurrill , as Goetz said you can use a signal for that purpose. Since you are a beginner, here an example, with a signal.
Try to study this. It is a pure beginners solution + explanation inside.
