  1. Thank you for taking the trouble for finding the time for me. Eric
  2. Hi Hubert I have just taken a quick look at the video and it's over an hour in length. You don't know how far into the video the raising of the ground level is so I can watch that part and save some time. Then later I can watch all of it at my leisure when time permits. Thanks again. Eric
  3. Hi Hubert Thanks for your post I will take a look later today and let you know if it has helped me. Eric
  4. I had forgotten about the ex-Governor of California. On a more serious note, it's a pity that you're other YouTube tutorial on landscaping doesn't have any on-screen instructions in English like the one you have done today. It's just a thought for any future ones.
  5. No, I don't think so I love a challenge. When I was an apprentice engineer all those years ago we were taught that the word "Can't" is not in the English language not should it exist in any other language either. This has always been my motto ever since, and I know that you will always do your best to help. So no worries as Crocodile Dundee used to say.
  6. Thanks again, I will give it a try but I am not hopeful. Eric
  7. So this means that if I put a bridge on the flat level of the base then it will look to float on the water, or is there any way of lifting the entire tracks above the base in one go? Sorry for all the questions. Eric
  8. Thank you very much for doing that I never expected you to go to all that trouble and it's most appreciated. I will have a more detailed look at the video later but at first glance, it looks as they say in Deutschland "Prima". Just one more thing I need to ask how do I do rivers, lakes and valleys? Thank you again for all your trouble. Eric
  9. Morning Goetz, Yes, I am back as predicted. When I click on the baseboard the different plains movement tool shows then whatever I try I can't get the reference dots to show as in your video. So this is what I am stuck on. By the way, I have subscribed to your YouTube channel. Thanks as always. Eric
  10. Thanks again no doubt I shall be back for more help.
  11. No, Goetz, I don't mind the commentary being in German although it was 1999 when I last used the language. I knew enough to get around the transport system and order in restaurants for instance. I am sure that with a little guesswork I will get by, although my hearing is very poor now. Thanks for your help and I hope that this year is better for all than the last one. Eric
  12. Hi I am want to start landscaping, adding Mountains, Valleys and Rivers and I have no idea how to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks Eric lord
  13. Thank you, Goetz, Once more you have come to my rescue. Much appreciated.
  14. Can anyone please tell me how to get the baseboard back as I have accidentally deleted it, as I was partway through adding a junction with plenty of switches involved I carried on and completed it, then saved it without the board showing? Which may complicate matters. Eric
  15. Thanks, Goetz, It's good to have two ways to do a job. Eric
  16. Hi Henry, Thanks for your solution, I have just tried it and it's exactly what I was looking for. I can't believe how helpful everyone has been. What great bunch you all are. Eric
  17. Hi Goetz, Yet another request, you must be tired of me by now. Firstly thanks for the track lengthening reply it's made life easier already, after your tutorial I was surprised when I found that it works on all the track pieces and not just the flexible track which is great. Now today's problem when I asked about fixing the track to the board and moving them as one perhaps I should have told you what I am after more clearly. When I am in 2D mode or the technical drawing one and I zoom in to make things larger, how do I then move the screen up/down or left/right without zooming out to make things smaller? I have looked under the view tab and can only find zoom in/out or centre which is not what I want is there a command somewhere else because I have looked elsewhere and can find one. If there were some scroll bars then life would be much easier. Thanks again for your time and patience with me. Eric
  18. I already have told him. He was used to using CAD which I think SCARM is. He worked in our engineering design office whereas I was more hands-on and worked building the prototypes and rectified any defects.
  19. Hi Goetz, I am having trouble joining the last gap in some of the tracks, I am using Hornby tracks and sometimes there is a small gap left and the smallest track piece is just a little too long. It's strange how things happen yesterday I was in town and met someone who I haven't seen for a long number of year's, he also builds model railways but the physical kind. I told him what I was attempting to do on the computer and he told me he uses a program named SCARM to plan any layouts, this program allows you to resize the length of Hornby flexible track to any length. Do you know if this is possible in our program? Thanks again, Eric
  20. Thanks for that, I will give it a try sometime in the next few days and then let you know the outcome.
  21. Hi Goetz, Yes, it's me again. I have some more questions. When I highlight a full section of track to move it I find that the switch point becomes unattached from the rest, also if I try turning a switch say 180 degrees then the spur and the straight section detach from each other. Next, now I have expanded the baseboard I find that if I lets say scroll the board in both planes then the track remains stationary whilst the base moves which means that the track can move off the board. I suppose I am asking is there a way to fix the track to the board whilst scrolling. I hope that all this makes sense to you. Thanks, again you know how much your help is appreciated. Eric
  22. Don't worry I don't give up easily. In fact, I have just switched the computer off 10 minutes ago.
  23. Yes, Pete, I find that I am now busier than when I was working. Someone once told me that being retired was one long holiday, I don't know which planet he was from. Take care, Eric
  24. Thank you, Pete, it's good to know that I am not the only one.
  25. Once again many thanks. That was one of the reasons why I needed to make the baseboard a larger size because when I placed the curved rails I had selected I found that they just fit on the North/South baseboard length. Looking at the pictures which you have just sent me I can now see that I was in the wrong gauge area. Thanks again and I hope that's all the help which I need for now as it will probably be at the weekend now before I have another play with the program. Eric
