  1. No, I don't think so I love a challenge.

When I was an apprentice engineer all those years ago we were taught that the word "Can't" is not in the English language not should it exist in any other language either.

This has always been my motto ever since, and I know that you will always do your best to help.

So no worries as Crocodile Dundee used to say.

  2. Thank you very much for doing that I never expected you to go to all that trouble and it's most appreciated.

I will have a more detailed look at the video later but at first glance, it looks as they say in Deutschland "Prima".

Just one more thing I need to ask how do I do rivers, lakes and valleys?

Thank you again for all your trouble.

    Eric

  3. Morning Goetz,

Yes, I am back as predicted.

When I click on the baseboard the different plains movement tool shows then whatever I try I can't get the reference dots to show as in your video.

So this is what I am stuck on.

By the way, I have subscribed to your YouTube channel.

    Thanks as always.

  4. No, Goetz, I don't mind the commentary being in German although it was 1999 when I last used the language. I knew enough to get around the transport system and order in restaurants for instance.

I am sure that with a little guesswork I will get by, although my hearing is very poor now.

Thanks for your help and I hope that this year is better for all than the last one.

  5. Hi Goetz,

Yet another request, you must be tired of me by now.

Firstly thanks for the track lengthening reply it's made life easier already, after your tutorial I was surprised when I found that it works on all the track pieces and not just the flexible track which is great.

Now today's problem when I asked about fixing the track to the board and moving them as one perhaps I should have told you what I am after more clearly.

When I am in 2D mode or the technical drawing one and I zoom in to make things larger, how do I then move the screen up/down or left/right without zooming out to make things smaller?

I have looked under the view tab and can only find zoom in/out or centre which is not what I want is there a command somewhere else because I have looked elsewhere and can find one.

If there were some scroll bars then life would be much easier.

Thanks again for your time and patience with me.

  6. Hi Goetz,

I am having trouble joining the last gap in some of the tracks, I am using Hornby tracks and sometimes there is a small gap left and the smallest track piece is just a little too long.

It's strange how things happen yesterday I was in town and met someone who I haven't seen for a long number of year's, he also builds model railways but the physical kind. I told him what I was attempting to do on the computer and he told me he uses a program named SCARM to plan any layouts, this program allows you to resize the length of Hornby flexible track to any length.

Do you know if this is possible in our program?

    Thanks again,

    Eric

  7. Hi Goetz,

Yes, it's me again. I have some more questions.

When I highlight a full section of track to move it I find that the switch point becomes unattached from the rest, also if I try turning a switch say 180 degrees then the spur and the straight section detach from each other.

Next, now I have expanded the baseboard I find that if I lets say scroll the board in both planes then the track remains stationary whilst the base moves which means that the track can move off the board. I suppose I am asking is there a way to fix the track to the board whilst scrolling.

I hope that all this makes sense to you.

Thanks, again you know how much your help is appreciated.

  8. Once again many thanks.

That was one of the reasons why I needed to make the baseboard a larger size because when I placed the curved rails I had selected I found that they just fit on the North/South baseboard length.

Looking at the pictures which you have just sent me I can now see that I was in the wrong gauge area.

Thanks again and I hope that's all the help which I need for now as it will probably be at the weekend now before I have another play with the program.

    Eric
