72sonett Geschrieben 18. August 2018 Geschrieben 18. August 2018 I made a 3d model of our house using Tinkercad (as .stl file). Is there any way to convert this to a model useable in 3dMBS?
Reinhard Geschrieben 19. August 2018 Geschrieben 19. U.a. Blender (Blender) könnte dies. In Blender kannst du *.stl-Dateien importieren und *.x-Dateien exportieren. Gruß Reinhard For the 3D-MBS you need a DirectX file. If Tinkercad cannot create DirectX files, you will need a program to convert *.stl to *.x files. Among others Blender (Blender) could do this. In Blender you can import *.stl files and export *.x files. salute Reinhard
72sonett Geschrieben 19. August 2018 Autor Geschrieben 19. August 2018 (bearbeitet) Thanks. So I installed Blender 2.79b, imported my model.stl file and exported it as a model.x3d file (model.x was no option). Now how do I import the model.x3d file in my 3d-MBS lay out? -- MH Bearbeitet 19. maxwei Geschrieben 19. August 2018 Geschrieben 19. August 2018 Hi MH first you need to install the Exporter, to find here: https://www.3d-modellbahn.de/files/wiki/attachments/3/io_scene_x.zip extract it under e.g. C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\<Version>\scripts\addons restart "Blender", then activate the exporter in blender under "User Preferences / AddOn's" and you are ready to export. greets max
72sonett Geschrieben 19. August 2018 Autor Geschrieben 19. August 2018 OK, after some trial and error that worked, thanks , I now have a model.x file. What next, how do I import it into 3dMBS? -- MH
maxwei Geschrieben 20. August 2018 Geschrieben 20. August 2018 Hi MH In 3DMBS select >Catalog >3D Models > New > in that new Windows select that Kind of 3D-Model you want to install. press the + Button and select the *.x File, thats it. You may select some Options in that Window, depending on your choice, self-explaining. greets max PS: warum schreibst du in anderen Threads in perfektem deutsch?
72sonett Geschrieben 20. August 2018 Autor Geschrieben 20. August 2018 It almost worked, I got a message saying "The model could not be loaded, it contains too much vertices (140863,maximum allowed 65536)." but the principle is clear to me now, thanks, you have been very helpful. 4 hours ago, maxwei said: ... warum schreibst du in anderen Threads in perfektem deutsch? Perfekt... really?? The other thread started in German, has no postings in English at all, so I continued in German. I noticed this forum is bilingual and as my English is even more perfect and easier for me, I started this Tinkercad thread in English. -- MH
72sonett Geschrieben 22. August 2018 Autor Geschrieben 22. August 2018 I split my original model up in smaller parts and made an x file, import in 3DMBS worked OK but when I wanted to save the model it told me to buy he profesional version first... I did not know there were limitations on the standard version, could not find anything about that either...
