danielljosse Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Hello everyone, I am new to the world of 3D Modellbahn and would love some advice on creating my first layout. I have been exploring the forum and reading some great posts but I am still a bit confused about the best approach to start my design. Could anyone share some tips on how to effectively plan my layout in the 3D environment: ?? I am interested in understanding how to integrate different elements like tracks, buildings and scenery. Are there any specific tools or software features I should focus on to ensure that my layout looks realistic and functions smoothly: ?? Also, I am curious about how to manage file sizes for large layouts should I optimize the 3D models to keep things running efficiently: ?? I appreciate any guidance or recommendations you can provide !! Thanks in advance !! With Regards, Daniel Jose react native course
Goetz Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Hello Daniel, vor 5 Minuten schrieb danielljosse: some advice on creating my first layout I'd say start small. Do simple things, little throwaway layouts to get to grips with the various functions and controls. Maybe study some of the layouts which other users published for inspiration. The 3D Train Studio has all the tools that are required and no additional software is needed. Realistic and efficient comes later. Learn the ropes first. And when you're stuck, we're here to help. Kind regards Goetz
Phrontistes Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Hi @danielljosse The program has endless possibilities and your question is very general. Perhaps you should first look in the layout catalog to see what others have done. It is better to start with small layouts to see how everything works. Kind regards Phrontistes
BahnLand Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 (edited) Hallo / hello Daniel, zum Modellbahn-Studio gibt es ein Wiki, das Du hier öffnen kannst. There is a wiki for the Train Studio, which you can open here. Gehe hier ganz nach unten , klicke auf "Sprachen" und selektiere "English". Go all the way down here, click on "Sprachen" (Languages) and select "English". Anschließend kannst Du oben den Google-Translator für Englisch auswählen. Damit stehen Dir alle Wiki-Informationen in englischer Sprache zur Verfügung. You can then select the Google translator for English at the top. This will make all Wiki information available to you in English. Viele Grüße / many greetings BahnLand Edited December 25, 2024 by BahnLand
alexander42 Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Hello @danielljosse, I agree with @Goetz. Beginn small. A good place to start could be to recreate small/simple layouts from railroad magazines or websites. This removes the creative/design part and you can purely concentrate on the mechanics. Like with 'real' railroad modelling, maintaining fun and motivation is much easier by setting simple, short-term goals. Another important thing is feedback. Share your 'work' with us. If you get stuck - Let us know! We are always happy to answer questions on specific topics. Cheers Alex
