  1. Hi guys The sign below, which isn't a road-sign per se but appears on station platforms as a warning to stay away from the edge, is not in the catalogue. Or if it is, I can't find it. I managed to put it together, but it isn't quite centred because the above file isn't quite straight. As the sign seems to be on every platform including Berlin Hbf, I would have thought it was an essential item? Just a thought... By the way if it is there and I missed it, please will someone show me? Vielen Dank Simon
  2. Best guess, your new baseboard isn't level. Assuming you are using Windows 10 or later, in the start menu, under "Windows Accessories", you should have a "Snipping Tool" - a pair of scissors overlaid on a white ellipse with a red border. This tool will allow you to "snip" a portion of your screen and save it to a file (default name is "Capture" but can be changed) Click "New", then select the area of the screen you wish to "snip" - The snipping tool automatically disappears as you do (I did these screen-shots the old fashioned way). If you miss the bit you want, just click "New" again and keep trying until you have what you want. Once you have your image: Click the save icon. Remember where you saved it and insert the image here using the attachment box below. This will make it much easier for Goetz, and te others (even me) to help figure out what is wrong. Cheers Simon
  3. Hi and thanks for the info. I had figured most of that out, but it;s good to have it confirmed. The fact that there used to be a lot more tracks is clear from the wide flat area of overgrown ballast beyond P3 and the fact that the catenary towers and supports cover the entire width of that area. It also looks like an area that used to be sidings a little further North was given over to solar panels! I assume that the extra "wrong-facing" signals were there because of the shunting required for the extra tracks? I'm still confused by the snip below, of the multi-block signals further South... O6 A is the Northbound Block section signal and being KS-Multiblock I assume would repeat the status of 06N1 or 06N3 (or neither) depending upon the settingd of the intervening points. Given that there is a forest area just south of the signals the short distance repeater makes sense on this track. But if 06 AA on the other track is the Southbound block signal, why is there a short distance repeater on the same track to the South? The only logical explanation is still that both tracks are (or were) used for Northbound traffic, and 06 AA faced south as well as 06 A. It doesn't actually make a difference as the signals are well beyond the end of the layout, I'm just curious. Also, I'm wondering if you know when the station building changed to it's current form from the one depicted by the Kibri model? They are nothing alike! Thanks for the help Simon
  4. Thank you for that it has positively identified the distant signal as what I thought. But it hasn't helped with the rest of the signals. So far as I can tell all four tracks are used for Northbound traffic and there is no southbound traffic at all, which makes no sense as the Deutsch Bahn timetable website has all Northbound trains on Platform 1, and most Southbound trains on Platform 3 except two that depart Platform 1. There is no indication whatever of which direction the signals face! The other end --->
  5. Hi folks. I'm wondering if someone could help me out please? For reasons best left undisclosed, I decided to build a model of the above station and its surroundings, using Google Earth as a guide. It's coming on nicely if slowly with some nice little additions at V8. But I have a problem with the signals, in that they don't seem to male any sense. Hallo Leute. There is a lack of street view pictures, so I'm limited to using the satellite view, and identifying things by their shadows. The two ringed green above are the starter signals for the Northbound tracks 1 and 2 (Down, by UK convention as they are heading away from Berlin). The two shadows ringed in red would appear to be starter signals Northbound for tracks 3 and 4, but this would mean trains run Northbound on the Southbound (Up) main line as the only crossover in that direction for 10 Km is facing in the normal direction of travel (ringed blue above). It's as clear as I can get it, and I've runged in the same colour what I think are the four signals. On the one furthest left you can definitely see the white rectangle under the signal, meaning I am pretty sure it's not a home signal for Southbound trains on platform 3. Would these perhaps be shunting signals? Signals no longer in use but not removed? Wären das vielleicht Rangiersignale? Signale nicht mehr verwendet, aber nicht entfernt? And then we have this: Und dann haben wir das: The H above the 9 is the platform length - "Stop here wth 9 or more coaches" - I think. But the signal itself is a puzzle. It doesn't have a post plate at all. Is it a repeater signal? Any help would be grealy appreciated. Jede Hilfe wäre sehr willkommen. Thaks Simon
  6. Bypassed the problem with two identical primitives and "Visibility", but I'd still like to know?
  7. Is there a way to access the "Glow" property of a primitive, either from Lua or the EV?
  8. Logically... Object 1 and object 346 are linked and moving. I'm not saying this is how it works, perhaps a member of the production/support team can confirm one way or the other? But assuming that the properties for each object get saved one a a time, it's going to take a while to get from object 1 to object 346. And depending on the frame rate you have, that interval could be several frames, during which your objects have moved. So when the program saves 346 it has different X and Y coordinates from when object 1 was saved. This makes sense as a logical cause, but it is just a guess. Logisch...
  9. If I do that something goes wrong elsewhere on the layout!
  10. Or maybe not.... It works fine for aged and the when not being watched it all goes wrong! No idea why, nothing different is happening that time to all the other times, and because it only happens when not being watched I can't find the cause.
  11. Actually I may have fixed that by fiddling with the trucks' auto-acceleration! I'll re-instate their salaries with back-pay!
  12. I know, I'm really pleased with that bit, and the digger filling the trucks. The problem, aside from the cosmetic issue above, and the fact that sometimes a mainline train will divert into the yard, and the fact that the routes don't always clear themselves, and the buttons not disabling properly... is that when the train is full and being moved to the departure tracks, the four trucks get filled and then sit in a queue waiting for the next train. When it is ready to fill, the first two trucks move off together, and go to different transfer points, then the next two trucks do the same, but sometimes they get it wrong and go to the same transfer point. ... So yes, too much not working the way I expected and I gave up because fixing one thing caused another to go wrong Depends where you look but a quick google search has a Banksman earning between £26,000 and £43,000 per annum. I imagine that would depend on whether road or rail and experience etc... however, my three guys are just standing there and occasionally send the trucks the wrong way, so I'm not paying them!
  13. Come to think of it I've had the exact same issue... Consists of empty wagons each having a rectangle primitive added, to represent the load. This rectangle is attached to a "Dummy Lok" item which sits on a short vertical length of virtual track that is attached to the wagon. In this way the load can be realistically filled. I have lost count of the number of times I have gone through all the consists and set the x and y coordinates of the load equal to those of the wagon, and yet somehow they seem to move randomly, by a tiny amount. This is a V7 layout that I gave up on because it refuses to work consistently. Like Herman I have tried to run the same wagons on a test track with lots of curves, and found no displacement. 36F2775A-5262-4DAE-AB3A-2DE1C34C6425 Draft upload
  14. No, not that loop, my code loop. Because I had it coded to put one line at a time on the "Via" list, it had between 4 and 13 lines to display and was looping on a two-second timer. Changing it to display two lines at a time meant adding a blank 14th line, but I forgot to increment the index a second time on the initial call! All working now. (Now to get the other platform to work!)
  15. Oh! Would that work with the labels in the station departure boards?
  16. Oh, also, you can't undo an action while you have the end widget of a spline object selected... just click on the baseboard and the undo option comes back.
  17. Actually it greys out after 50 clicks! I just tested it. Easy to do, just create a forest using the new multiple place feature, put 60 trees in. Then try and undo them all. You will be left with 10 you have to delete! This could be due to what Goetz said: if you have the layout running then if a vehicle enters or exits a depot, it will clear the undo buffer. I just checked and it does it on both. I recommend pausing the layout in order to make changes. The drivers of vehicles moving... Could be something to do with them not being linked properly to the vehicle? Or just a thought it could be that they are somehow on a different scale.
  18. I think there might be a physical (i.e. hard-coded) limit on the number of actions you can undo? I've noticed tat the undo button grays out after a certain number of clicks. There is an easy and obvious work-around - the Save button. Rule one for computers: When you have doe more than you want to do again, save! Rule two: Before doing a major edit that you might want to undo, save! In fact it's advisable to save as a different file name periodically so that you have a checkpoint to go back to if it all goes horribly wrong and you save by accident!
  19. The mirror created by setting a rectangle 1m x 2m to 100% shininess and metallic. (the frame is just for aesthetics). But it's interesting to me that the "reflection" is always the same regardless of what is actually in front of the mirror, meaning poor Doro has joined the ranks of the Undead. I'm not complaining, just noticing. I am pretty sure that if the program were to produce realistic reflections, it would probably be too much for my ageing computer. But I can dream!
  20. I down-loaded a football texture off the web a few years ago and incorporated it into a layout at V5. But yes I can see the problem!
  21. I thought those two were deliberately centred on the landscape? If you want the cube sitting on the ground, use "Box". With the sphere it's easy enough to set the z coordinate to the radius...
  22. Just because, more as an exercise in doing the scenery...: It doesn't actually do anything, I just wanted to see f I could make a model that was a close to the photo as possible... I can still see a few things I could tweak to get it closer, but it's never going to be the same , so I'm happy.
